iGM Resins Enforces Omnirad Patent Protection

In 2016, iGM Resins acquired the Photoinitiators product line from BASF along with the intelligence and patent for Omnirad 819. This globally patented product is a versatile photoinitiator for radical polymerization of unsaturated resins upon UV light exposure. The manufacturing of Omnirad 819 (BAPO) is protected by several patents that are owned and enforced by iGM Resins. These patents include the production processes: EP 1 648 908 B1 and EP 1135 399 B2 along with their equivalents.
When our global team members invest time and resources in our products, we secure patents for our technologies to safeguard their quality and integrity. Each remains firmly committed to the proactive protection of our intellectual property. When we determine that a patent has been infringed upon, we will seek satisfaction through the applicable legal processes of each country against organizations as well as any customer who may be utilizing non-conforming products.
Following a thorough analysis of BAPO products currently available on the market, iGM Resins discovered that this product was in violation of our patent. We therefore decided to take legal action against those companies.
After a lengthy legal process, we are pleased to announce that we have won our case. Additionally, we would like to reinforce that producing a patented product as well as using an infringing patent is illegal and we will continue to pursue any/all means to protect our products.
