Force majeure announcement
February 22, 2021 - Charlotte, North Carolina, United States of America
Dear Valued Customer,
As you may be aware, the unprecedented weather and utility supply situation in Texas has created force majeure conditions and/or shutdowns for suppliers of key feedstocks we use to produce Energy Curing Resins (“ECRs”). This situation has eliminated, or drastically curtailed, our supply of (among other products) Glacial Acrylic Acid, Liquid Epoxy Resin, polyols, and isocyanates that are necessary to produce our entire range of ECRs. Many of iGM’s suppliers of these raw materials have declared force majeure and ceased, or greatly diminished, our supply of these products. This, in turn, has caused us to halt entirely, or greatly reduce, the production of our ECR product line.
Under these circumstances, effective immediately, iGM Resins hereby declares a force majeure event for all ECR products produced out of our Charlotte, North Carolina facility. Although the extent and duration of the force majeure condition is not yet fully known or knowable, we are issuing this notification as soon as possible to ensure that you are aware of these circumstances, so that you can take steps to mitigate to the extent possible. We deeply regret this situation, and we ask for your patience as we work our way through this unprecedented and unexpected crisis. Be assured that we are working around the clock to evaluate the full impact of this event on our production and logistics capabilities, and to rectify these conditions to the extent possible. We will provide an update once we have assessed our ability to manufacture and supply ECRs.
As always, your account manager is available to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding this situation. We value the trust you place in iGM Resins as a supplier, and we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you. We will be contacting you regarding product availability once more details are identified.
