IGM Resins Adds Development, Manufacturing Expertise

New Technical Development Manager, Acrylates; New Plant Manager

Charlotte, NC, USA—July 24, 2014—IGM Resins, Inc., a global leader in the development, manufacture and supply of products and technical services to the UV ink and coatings industry, has announced the addition of Susan E. Bailey, Ph.D. and Bryan Stegall to its technical and operations team, located at the company’s North American regional headquarters in Charlotte, NC, USA, which also houses its flagship acrylate manufacturing plant and R&D Center.

Dr. Bailey has joined IGM Resins, Inc. as Technical Development Manager, Acrylates.  Leading product development and staff as part of IGM’s Global Technical Team, Susan will be responsible to accelerate the pace of innovation, expanding and improving our oligomer and monomer product lines to bring technical solutions to our customers and the market. Prior to joining IGM, Susan served as a scientist at Brewer Science developing materials for nanotechnology, semiconductors, MEMS, sensors and optoelectronics and as a chemist at Hewlett-Packard, where she developed UV-curable radiation imageable coatings for labeling optical media. She holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry and a B.A. degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles.

In addition, Susan develops and delivers content for a suite of graduate-level online courses in Polymer Coatings and Radiation Technology for the Radiation Curing Program at the State University of New York’s College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and serves on the Editorial Board of the RadTech Report.

Bryan Stegall joins IGM as a Plant Manager. In this capacity, Bryan will lead safe and efficient operation of the company’s acrylate manufacturing facility, further developing and improving the culture of continuous improvement in servicing global customers. He comes to IGM from Sabic, where Bryan managed operations at a high-temperature plastics manufacturing plant. His 26-year career in the chemical industry includes production, operations, and technical management positions for Valspar, Ferro Corporation, Rhone Poulenc/Rhodia Inc., Sherwin-Williams Company and Rohm and Haas Company. He earned a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University.
