BUYER MORTARA

BUYER - Italy (Mortara)

Is your strength supporting the sourcing strategy of the company, selecting suppliers and negotiating contracts at the best possible conditions?
And do you see it as a challenge to work in an international environment?
Come and join us at IGM!

BUYER -  MORTARA (PV)
40 hours/week

What are you going to do?Your main focus is providing reliable and compliant sources of supply, with competitive prices and on-spec deliveries for raw materials and indirect spend categories. This starts with drafting and executing (supplier selection, negotiation and contract definition) sourcing strategies and developing knowledge of internal needs and external factors.
Deployment of those strategies at local level will require for you to liaise with internal stakeholders (i.e. site management, engineering, finance, SHE, regulatory) working with them in close cooperation and to act as primary contact towards key suppliers and developing strong partnerships with them.
You will also drive the optimization of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and manage cost saving pipeline to ensure targets for cost reduction are met, together with OWC reduction programs. Your task will be to make sure supplier performance against agreed upon key performance indicators is reviewed and action plans for continuous improvement are defined. Moreover you’ll have to take care of ensuring best practice sharing and standardization of processes and tools across IGM in co-operation with the local procurement teams in other regions.  We are always looking for improvement, which is why we are looking for someone who thinks about the process, identifies possible improvements and helps with their implementation, driving global initiatives to support our journey towards the use of more sustainable Raw Materials!

Who are we?We are an important player in the UV technology market and specialized in producing raw materials for adhesives, lacquers and paints that harden using UV. Our head office is in The Netherlands, but we have more locations all over the world where we work every day on the success of our organization with a very international and customer driven approach. We have grown rapidly in recent years and now we employ more than 700 employees worldwide: 110  belong to IGM Italy, most based in our production plant in Mortara (PV), some in our research lab in Gerenzano (VA).

Who are you?You enjoy working with other colleagues, in Italy as well as with colleagues in other countries, and with external stakeholders and suppliers. You’ll be based in Italy (Mortara) with a direct reporting line to the global Procurement Director, based in The Netherland and a dotted reporting line to the Plant Manager, so you have that nice combination between working independently and looking for collaboration.
Of course you can do this in both Italian and English, given our international environment. You have experience with MS Office and you are very good with Excel. You have also experience with ERP systems: if this is SAP, then this is certainly an advantage.
Do you  have at least 4 years of relevant working experience, including strategic purchasing? Have you got solid understanding of the chemical industry, of market trends and developments?  Do you have experience with  procurement of raw materials and indirect spend categories, such as with  sustainable sourcing or related topics? Are you able to work in a cross functional and cross cultural setting, within a remote network?  And most of all, does the above appeal to you? Then we could well be a match.

What do we offer? We work in a very complex and challenging context, that is for us an opportunity to learn and grow a lot. We do it  every day, being part of a team with a nice mix of people with different seniority, backgrounds and experience and within a growing company with a clear vision. In IGM you’ll find a dynamic and diverse working culture and where you can benefit from flexibility towards working hours and location to support your work-life balance. A place where you get a lot of responsibility and room for personal development! During the year, you and your manager and team will therefore pay close attention to your personal development opportunities and ambition.

Do we fit into your picture?
