Electronics

UV / EB coatings are used in manufacturing a wide variety of electronic components, including optical fibers, printed circuit boards, photo-resists, electrical conductor wire and LCD panels. The market has a high projected growth rate, particularly for energy curing coatings of next generation replacements for optical fibers and in the production of LCD panels.

In printed circuitry, energy coatings offer increased cure speed and enhanced bond strength with the ability to print at high resolution and to provide low temperature cure for heat-sensitive substrates. The high solvent and chemical resistance of the cured polymer coating allows etching. UV / EB coatings application methods allow flexibility in equipment design, including the ability to use roll-to-roll printing for flexible electronics. Their low viscosity enables thin film application.
